The Reservoir

  4.4 – 954 reviews  $$ • American restaurant

Established in 2009, The Reservoir was created to celebrate the emerging craft beer market of Vermont and beyond. Additionally, we worked to create a menu that is fresh, creative and local when possible. We are proud to call Waterbury, Vermont our home. Since we opened, we have worked countless hours to create a draft list that is filled with a balance of styles, served fresh and the best beers we can source from Vermont. We are privileged to pour drafts from breweries like Hill Farmstead, Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Frost and many more. Our draft list changes daily. Looking for a private space for up to 50 people? Many people don’t know about it, but we have a beautiful private event space that can be used for many different purposes.

Down-to-earth spot offering 30+ beers on tap, comfort food & weekly live-music shows.

The food was excellent, loved the fresh ingredients. Some of the best falafel and hummus we have eaten! Good cocktail and draft selection. One draft beer took over ten minutes, they were Not busy. Our server preferred rolling silverware and hanging out with the rest of the staff than taking care of her one table, she was awful. The hostess helped us out the most, she was great.

The burgers were fantastic. 10 out of ten. My husband tried the NY Strip and thought it was 5 out of 10. But she also tried a beer with maple syrup, it was a very dark beer, very creamy, and he thought it was excellent.

Loved this place. Out of the few restaurants in this block, this had the most variety in the menu. It’s one of those dark bar/restaurants, several TVs, seating at the bar, darts, and even a pool table! I had the soup of the day, broccoli beer cheese, and an order of mussels. Both were delicious, although the soup could have been hotter, the mussels were perfect and they use a lot of garlic, which I love. My sister chose the quinoa bowl which she said was so good. We also got an order of their mac and cheese to go for someone else, and they loved it. I would frequent this place if I lived there, cool joint!

as the last option for dinner … wait time are long in this town and this place was the shortest. I ordered the 14 star stout with maple syrup. It was a very good I would highly recommend this. I order the New York strip however, their beef in Vermont must not be very good as this was five out of 10 stars. The burgers were very good so I would stick with them.

Awesome place! We were on the wait list for 30 minutes and it was well worth the wait. We sat at the bar until our table was ready, and their Maple Whiskey was fantastic . Dinner was filling and delicious and I loved the vibe.

Stopped in and grabbed a quick dinner. Had the wings, they were great. Service was a bit short staffed. Overall good experience, one of my go to spots in Waterbury.

Asked about a beer if it was hazy, waitress checked and said no. It was. When our food arrived, mine was cold, it was a burrito w/ cheese sauce. Meat inside wasn’t even warm. Portion was large though. Husband got chicken shawarma that was so overly salty along w/ the fries he couldn’t even finish it. I sat with my plate of barely eaten food in front of me and our waitress never returned once except to ask if I wanted a box, never asked how anything was. We paid and was on our way out when, I’m guessing, the manager, asked how everything was and we told him. He just said it was his first day alone, and that we should have said something. Maybe I would have if our waitress would have come back to our table to ask but I feel she was avoiding us because of having to return the beer earlier. Anyway, for the price we paid it was very disappointing. Service was just ok, considering the place had just opened up for the day, and it was not busy.I ended up taking my food home and heating it up later and it was better warm.

This place has really gone down hill. The food is still great but the service has become terrible. My wife and I used to love eating here. We would come a couple times a month. Over the past year we have seen the quality of service seriously decline. Tonight we sat at the bar and multiple employees looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us for about 10 minutes. Finally someone came up and took our order which he never actually put in. We waited another 30 minutes before one of the bartenders Finally came back to us and discovered the mistake. This alone was an understandable mistake but we were once again ignored after our food came out. No drink refills, no asking if everything was okay. My wife had to reach behind the bar to get a napkin which finally prompted a waitress from the dining area to check on us. We finished the meal and then waited another 15 minutes before I had to track down the bartender to pay the bill. She apologized and admitted that she was doing a bad job but too little too late.
