Very chill and tranquil shop. The blackbird sandwich was the perfect amount of spicy kick and filling after the day of ubering. Their black coffee is a perfect morning cup. Recommend if you are in town.

Disappointing changes from a sandwich and coffee spot we have visited weekly for years. Prices are higher which would be understandable except the sandwiches now come with very little meat and cheese compared to the past. My sandwich came with 2 small pieces of lunch meat. If you have eaten here for years, it’s a hugely noticeable change. Sadly if this is the new normal, we will look for a new favorite spot for lunch.

Have LOVED this place until now. Food has changed since the new owners profit squeeze. Costs up. Had a black bird yesterday that was always loaded with meat on a 6” Bagett. Now two maybe three thin slices on bread cut from a much bigger loaf. Razor thin cheese. Was awful and expensive. Sorry CG. Unless someone else buys you I won’t be back.

Came few months ago. Been coming here for years, always great drinks and food. But noticed portions were a lot smaller than usual and price was higher, where as they claim sandwiches get 5-6oz of pastrami, ham or other meats, it looks like 2-3 oz and sandwich is more expensive than with previous owners. Guess that’s what happens when one of greedy owners from a restaurant buy a breakfast spot. Please stop ruining quality businesses being cheap and short with customers. Will never be coming back here again, as the integrity of family owned has been messed with.

I’ve been here six or seven times while out Elburn way. I lived in this town a few years while younger, and this restaurant is now a well-loved fixture in the community. Great food. Fun and flavorful drinks. A wonderful vibe where you feel at home.
