Social Profile:

Hello world! My name is Ollie Holdstock and am the proud owner of the Route 6 Cafe I moved to the states in 1981 and travelled from Key West FLA to La Jolla CA looking for a place to call home and settle. In 1983 I discovered Vail Colorado, it was a small intimate place at the time, I was welcomed with open arms, the rest is history. I have always worked in the service industry since in the USA, I love what I do and where I live, what a privilage it is. We have been serving the locals and tourists at the Route 6 for the past 16 years and our menu has become as diverse as our customers.

Homey hangout with couches, a patio & a menu of all-day breakfast, sandwiches & other American eats.

What a great place! We had gluten free fish and chips-what a pleasant surprise. They have a big menu and lots of variety to choose from as well as indoor or outdoor seating.

Quintessential diner atmosphere! We came to the Route 6 Cafe for breakfast. The atmosphere was unexpectedly bright and cheery (in a cozy, homey diner sort of way) with lots of patio seating as well. The service was fast and friendly. Very reasonable prices. The food was good, not the best I’ve ever had, but no complaints. I got the cinnamon french toast. I would definitely recommend it!

Found this place driving home from Colorado. It’s a very quaint place open at 7 am Monday to Saturday and 7:30 am Sunday. They have breakfast until 3 pm lunch begins at 11 am and stops at 3 pm as well. Full bar and pool table. Happy hour begins at 3 and goes til 6 pm dinner service begins at 5 pm. Staff is super friendly and service is good as well. Food passed my expectations. If you have the chance please stop by and check it out

Ha ds down their fish, and chips are the best up here in the mountains. The fish isn’t full of breading. The slaw isn’t too sweet. The chips are delicious. I’ve tried bobs in avon a d El Segundo in Eagle. Bob’s fish… theirs more breading than fish. Super skinny. El Segundo, I omitted the tortilla, and for the price, you get basically 1/2 of a piece of that of fish, and it’s not cooked fresh. And too, there’s a lot of breading. You want delicious fish come here to route 6 Cafe.

We tried the shepherds pie, venison chili and the raspberry cheesecake. The portion and the taste was great, loved it. The service was also very good.

We have come here probably about 10 times over the past 3 weeks we have stayed in Eagle Vail. The food is spot on every time. I really like the French Toast and the Patty Melt. This is a good place for a variety of flavors along with fun games like pole and sand board. Highly recommend for those staying in Eagle-Vail. This is more of a breakfast and lunch place. Food is great!

This is probably the best gluten-free restaurant in the valley. My wife has to eat gluten free and so we have frequented this restaurant probably at least 20 times which is quite a few when you consider that we’ve only come there four weeks in the last few years.

We eat here a lot. The area with the sky lights has water damage with mold growing on the wood wall panels. It’s been like this since last winter. Waitress seemed like she was annoyed to have a table. Served tea with no sweetener. While placing our order we had a request for sides and our server just walked off. We ordered our burgers medium they came out well done. The buns were hard. The check was dropped off before we could ask about dessert, so we didn’t order any. This was our first time receiving poor service and lower quality food. Normally it’s a great experience. If they are not fixing all the water damage and mold it makes me wonder what other areas they neglect.

Ordered a venison chili bread bowl. It was great. About $13. Service was quick and has good outdoor seating that is also dog friendly.
