2nd visit. Snapper was a little dry, asked for no seasoning on the fries because they are a little salty for my taste, they forgot. Hushpuppies are just okay.

1st time here , food was way too spicy and over cooked food came in a black box food was Almost same shade of box . I only ate it cause of the amount money I spent and hungry . Shrimp calamari and fish smh. Went to sleep woke up throwing up . Never have to worry about me again and spent over 50.00 for 2 dinner a small platter and a 3 basket. My son who will eat just about anything didn’t even finish his . Wish I read some of these reviews before I spent my money. One star because I had too.

Fresh, tender and quick! I ordered the red snapper special and man was it good. I like how they cut it so you can easily pull chunks of fish away from the bone. I think they forgot my lemon but the malt vinegar was a great substitute. Wait time was less than 12 mins and you can hear them dropping the fish in the fryer.

I do not recommend this location at all, was very disappointed. I was super excited about it and had heard great things but this location left much to be desired. There portion sizes for the price is absurd. $12 for fried calamari which came with ten sad pieces and some soft fries. The calamari was rubbery. The fried fish basket came with at least a decent size fish, but had 5 pin bones still inside.

The mojo was all in the seasoning. A hint of salty sweetness with accents of garlic and paprika. The catch of the day freshness, cooked golden delicious. Crispy and held together with texture, Scallops where nothing less measuring up to the count! No cheating the ruler there!

I feel bamboozled out of $78. I had the quad basket and crab claws. I couldn’t even taste that it was crab. My fish, shrimp, scallops and calamari was trash with the calamari being the worse. I’ve tried several times to support but I can’t keep wasting my money. Food didn’t have no seasoning tasted old like it was sitting and then refried.

I love Oak City Fish and Chips! The food never misses and elevates the tradition of the “fish fry” to bougie levels! I only wish I could stay and enjoy it in the shop while surrounded by all the amazing images of locals and celebrities who also love the restaurant.

I was craving some fried fish on this hot summer day, and Google directed me here. I was really let down that there was no tables or surfaces to eat off of inside their cool A/C.. outside of that. The fried fish and oysters were delicious. I’d definitely go back. Just be prepared to eat in your car unless you’re a fan of standing up.

I only gave a 3 stars because the food is okay. However this particular establishment was very ghetto, the lady working was the only person working the restaurant, she was on the phone and had it on speaker phone but she was very kind I must say and she got our orders taken care of in a decent amount of time. I didn’t like the fact that they wouldn’t accept cash and only had a limited of options to choose from which was only fish & shrimp because of the dreamville festival. I haven’t been to this particular establishment in a while so I figure give them a shot. However I was very very disappointed! I support black owned businesses as I own a black owned business but customer service is EVERYTHING! We got to do better.
