Were excited for fish fry takeout last night, but were incredibly disappointed. Either the fryer wasn’t up to temperature or was overloaded, and the cooks must have been rushed, as the fish was mushy and full of grease and fries weren’t even close to being cooked. The tartar sauce had such an off taste we were worried it had gone bad. Service is wonderful, but can’t make up for inedible food.

Stopped in here for pie and coffee. Lots of different pie to choose from. Very friendly staff. They offer lots of food. I remember eating here as a kid with my dad. A great place to relax and have a good meal. Down home cozy atmosphere. Wood recommend.

Used to love going here weekly, see the same friendly faces and eat delicious food. Unfortunately new owners took over and although the menu has stayed the same, the quality has gone down hill and it seems the staff are all different as well. We’ve been here twice since the change over. Both times sorely disappointed. Once for the breakfast buffet which had cold food even though we were there around 9, and the waitress was never able to come back and check on us. Then another time for dinner which is when we saw just how much changed with the food. Won’t be going back. And will have to head out of Spooner for any breakfast or dinner places since the ones in spooner are owned by the same family.

Food was excellent, portions were large, and the homemade pies were amazing. Service was below average (waiter was unattentive despite it being a slow night). I will go back to give them another try and hope the service is improved.

I love old restaurants like this. Everything was excellent and the apple pie was wonderful. I prefer “nothing too fancy” places with wonderful food and good prices. The staff was great. I’ll be back when in the area.

Update , We went there yesterday and had the crab legs and shrimp and were wonderful and the service was great. The price was very good also. I hope you keep this combo on the menu.
