I rate Neighborhood Ramen higher than NYC Ramen places (like Jin) I always liked. Taste, texture, and combination are all excellent. Brothless dishes (like the one pictured above) add diversity and positive, seasonal variation to the menu. Cool Japanese Baseball league table-numbers add distinctiveness to the overall experience. Hibiscus tea was a winner too (when I had it).

Ramen and steamed wantons were both really good. Their menu is small, but if you’re specifically looking for ramen, they got it good. The dining room is small so limited capacity. Yo order/pay at the counter before being served at your table. BYOB!

Neighborhood Ramen rarely ever disappoints. Been here many times and as someone who has enjoyed my fair share of ramen in both the states and Japan, their ramen is very authentic. Apart from the perfect noodles, egg, and pork, the best part of their ramen is that it’s absolutely perfect to the last bite and you will NOT feel disgusting after finishing the entire bowl. Shoyu is extremely light, tonkotsu is heavier but the umami is unreal. Always a sunday fav!!

Cool, laid back ramen place. You walk in and order from the counter then take a seat. The girl at the front was friendly and went over each ramen before suggesting the Tantan.

Tonkotsu ramen was good, but too thick in my opinion. You could see on photo that it started to form “skin”. The egg was undercooked, as you could see (same for my wife’s portion of ramen) on top of being extremely cold. There are much better places in Philly and for a much cheaper price.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was crowded, but we didn’t have to wait long to get in. That was nice. I really like their ordering process. You order before you sit down, so whenever you done, you just get up and go. Everything from water, utensils, and napkins is self service, which I also like.

My first time having true ramen. It was great. I got the tantan ramen and the meat in it was so very tender, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the spice factor i think was perfect, not so spicey you dont taste the other flavors, but you still feel it. The gyoza was delish also. It was easy to bite and the flavor was amazing. The ordering was easy, you order at counter and then take a seat. The have a 1 hour sitting limit so you arent keeping others waiting(brilliant since it is a small shop). If I ever visit philly again I will be going here for another bowl.

Came in for the Clam Miso Ramen special. Did not disappoint. Been following them and going in infrequently and this special seemed like the White Whale of specials. I didn’t catch it in time before. Out of town when it ran other times. Finally achieved the bliss. The presentation was great, the noodles were a perfect balance of chewy and soft. Porky bits were like pillows amongst the broth. Clam’s tones of umami and ocean buoyed by the miso’s own funky salinity. The broth was thick and creamy in the richness, but rarely felt heavy, especially with the yuzu lemonade at my side. So make sure you can grab it while it’s there, this White Whale is special.

We heard that this place had the best ramen in Philly and had to check it out. Turns out that statement is likely very accurate. We ordered the Shoyu. I recommend adding on an order of pork, it’s so tender it basically melts on your tongue! definitely recommend and we’ll absolutely be coming back.
