A little treasure. It’s probably been there forever. The staff was very kind and patient. The fried chicken was delicious and the sides cabbage, cornbread, Mac n cheese (dry n sticky vs. wetness gooey) was sooo delicious. The pork chops with gravy was a winner too as well as sweet potato pie and lemon pound cake!! Would love to try everything!@

A true gem!! We came into town for a concert & always prefer a non-chain place to eat. Mel’s was nearby and had good reviews so we decided to try. It did not disappoint!! Everyone was very friendly, food came fast and had the perfect portion.

The corn on the cob is good. During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees are helpful, kind, and accommodating. I feel like a no smoking sign needs to be set outside cause the smell of food indoors is so good—so when a person smokes outside, the smoke smell kind of lingers indoors (if it gets inside) because of the way the interior is. Quite a comical experience asking about Vegan options at the establishment.

This is hands down the best southern style food I have eaten anywhere. And I have lived in Alabama and Georgia the majority of my life. The cornbread is pure Heaven. Every last item we ordered was cooked to perfection. And the service was so friendly! We will be back on a regular basis.

Highly recommended. I had the barbecue ribs with cabbage and red beans and rice. Very delicious. Also an ice cold slice of watermelon and lemon meringue pie. One of the best things you can do for yourself is eat at Mel’s. The service is exceptional. Our waitress was very attentive and wouldn’t let us lift a finger.

Absolutely off-the-chain ridiculous so good. My boyfriend and I shared the Turkey Breast with Red Beans & Rice, Mashed Potatoes, & Gravy, Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Cole Slaw for LUNCH and I’m walking like a penguin but it was so worth it.

Haven’t been to Mel’s for several years. My experience yesterday was a very pleasant one. Staff very friendly like always and the food was pretty good. I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t offer cornbread just dinner rolls. All in all, my experience was good!
