The food was good and I enjoyed it… but the service is not the best–Waiting almost 1hr for sushi after placing the order is a first for me even after visiting hundreds of japanese restaurants. The place was not to capacity thus it doesnt make sense why food took so long. To be fair, this was our first time there so not sure if the slow service was only that day.

We ate here on 5/17/2019 We were sadly disappointed at how the place and food had deteriorated under the new ownership. The first thing that hits you is the musty smell of mold. The place is absolutely filthy. My husband was given wooden chopsticks that should have been thrown in the trash ages ago. They had smashed tips and caked on food. Service incredibly slow, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our first dish to be brought to us. Rolls are small and the quality of ingredients a B minus at best. This was once our favorite sushi spot in town. We will not be coming back.

We’ve been coming to Eureka for years and just found this gem of a Japanese Restaurant by chance. I ordered the Tempura dinner with the Dragon Sushi Roll for take out it was the best I’ve had in years. The presentation was beautiful on the sushi roll plus a flower design (this on a take out, Wow!) Waiting time was longer than I was told, but well worth the wait. Good thing I ignored a few bad reviews on Yelp! This will be my go to place!

While you should probably make reservations, we were lucky to be seated on a Thursday night at the Sushi bar. The chefs rolling were quiet enough to give us our space, but fun and easy to talk to. Great music and fast service. Very romantic setting and excellent sake.

Sub-poor service and a smug atmosphere. It smelled like weed and pee as soon as we walked in. Eureka roll tastes like it was made with canned tuna. We also ordered the dynamite and spider roll–the crab was overcooked. The miso soup was horrible, it was way too salty and we received it after our rolls–which was new to me as its usually served first? The only reason we stayed to eat was because we were starving. After the smell grew faint after about 10 minutes, we thought why not, the reviews online give it a great rating. Ha. I found nothing great about this experience at all and I am wondering what kind of sushi other reviewers have been eating in comparison because simply stated, this place sucks. If you have ever had great sushi made with fresh off the boat fish, don’t waste your time or money here. I also urge all the people, who think this is the best sushi they have ever had, to try some other places. We wouldn’t ever eat here again even if we were locals and it was a matter of convenience.

I ordered the oysters for an appetizer, miso soup and the lemon roll. We waited a very long time for the food. And I noticed everyone else in the restaurant was too. The oysters came out after our sushi did-which was weird. Roll was not properly rolled and came apart as I picked it up. You can tell cook was inexperienced. Overall, it satisfied sushi cravings although was not a totally enjoyable dinning experience.

I love eating here. Staff is very nice and they are happy to make food accommodations. I have always experienced fresh fish and the portion sizes are satisfying. Open for lunch now. The newer owners are doing a great job.

Love it, love Jenny, excellent and fresh sushi. I like the salad trio and lemon roll, but chef’s choice option is great if you want a meal curated by those who know their sushi better than you. My favorite sushi option in Eureka.
