The food is good. The atmosphere is bizarre. There are lots of signs like this one, signs with rules and opinions. They were very strange. It was comical, almost to the point of thinking it’s satire. My family and I had a good laugh about it. I know it’s frustrating working in a restaurant but I don’t think it was professional and it definitely doesn’t create a very welcoming atmosphere, although they were welcoming. I loved the food but the signs are overwhelming. It’s like a “Dicks last resort” but they are not joking, they are very serious!

Several menu items unavailable. But otherwise, very good experience. Fries are excellent – club sandwich very very good. Got the catfish to go and it was outstanding, even hours later warmed in the oven. Anxious to try beans and cornbread on Tuesday and coconut shrimp next Friday. Outstanding service!

This place is a hidden gem in New Tazewell .First time eating at the restaurant. The small mouth hamburger was excellent (nothing small about it) you could share. Also, the best homemade fries(sliced daily) enough for 2 people. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back.

I took myself out for a birthday lunch there. Had a grilled chicken salad. Its was hugh. Chicken was cooked perfect. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was my meal of a salad and one soda drink was 16.06 kinda pricey but and the salad was hugh and chicken was great. I seen the owner she seemed friendly sadly my waitress didn’t smile at me once but she was kind and kept checking on me so I tipped anyways. Also I was confused when I went in I didnt know if you seat yourself or if they seated you. Had to actually ask if she wanted me to seat myself as I had never been there before. If you are wanting great food go try this place just prepare to pay for the better meal. I will definitely be going back this time I’ll even bring my family!

It was dinnertime when we got there, the place only had a few customers and it was 12:00 noon. The special for Friday was fish, home fries, hush puppies, and Cole slaw I think or mac and cheese. We waited 43 minutes to get our food. It was deep fried and greasy. My hubby got his spring purge a little early. The french fries were good, but the fish did not impress me at all. The fish was cut too thick and deep fried in oil that was too hot causing it to almost burn on the outside before the inside was done. I will give Kat’s one more try before I post permanent comments.

Fantastic food. Ordered the b.l.t. and hand cut fries.both were perfect. I love hand cut fries, nothing like using fresh ingredients verses frozen. Our server was working his first day and did a great job. “Kat” came out to check on customers too. Everyone was super friendly

First time coming here. Thought I would try it out. I can’t eat much from my surgery and wanted to have a kids meal and was strictly told no from the non smiling server! So I had to order an egg that I wanted over medium, got over light ( I don’t like runny eggs) ordered water no ice, I was served ice in my water not to mention there was an eye lash on my plate… clearly not mine!

Hubby & I have been to Kat’s for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The meals have all tasted great, the portions are sizable & the service is friendly. This is definitely our go to place for good conversation (servers are extremely friendly) and atmosphere!

Great hamburger, fab BLT and fresh cut fries. My husband enjoys her banana splits, he grind when I tell him we’re going for one. Always a friendly greeting.
