Went during non peak hours around 4pm, only few patrons dining at that time. Was offered regular seating or hibachi, we sat on the regular side. TVs were turned on in front and in back, radio was loud and on some weird pop station. The waiter we had was nice and had accent. He was very polite, matter of fact, and refilled drinks once. The menu was more than adequate. There was a plethora of options. We ended up with the three regular roll special and the spicy chicken soup. The spicy chicken soup was SPICY without much flavor. The rolls were “ok” at best. I’ve had better sushi at a Chinese buffet which is saying a lot. One of the rolls (can’t remember the name of it) had huge globs of this mayonnaise/ketchup concoction on top of it which was off putting but once removed tasted the most like actual seafood. The miso soup was decent, the ginger dressing on the salad was actually good. I think it was my favorite besides the wasabi which was fresh and zingy. The ponzu was decent quality as well. The staff appeared bored and just stood around horseplaying, singing with the radio, dancing, and staring at others while they ate. It was very unprofessional and quite rude. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms. There was designated parking out front for pickup orders and it seemed a lot of the staff and energy was aimed there. The workers at the sushi bar seemed lively and animated and chatted among themselves. The crowd picked up as we were leaving, and the workers seemed to stumble over themselves clumsily and awkwardly as if they weren’t trained adequately. I would be willing to give them one more chance with maybe a specialty roll, a dinner entree or a bowl of udon, but as of right now I think they are overhyped, overpriced and underwhelming.
