I’ve enjoyed Julio’s for years, but the pandemic brought a pause in eating out. I’m so happy to be back and enjoying the food at Julio’s. The ingredients taste fresh, the food tasted better the new layout is great, with the front opened to the street and the old bar welcoming you as you enter. My suggestion, take a few minutes and go to Julio’s to enjoy a Montpelier landmark. They’ve been feeding and pouring drinks in town for over 30yrs and are better today that they were 5 yrs ago.

My buddy and I decided to go to Julio’s for lunch, and we were not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and professional; the atmosphere was quite enjoyable; and the food was absolutely amazing! I ordered the queso y chorizo, and fajitas. I decided to add the queso to my fajita – highly recommend!

The food and drinks were very good, except the smokey pineapple margarita (yuck!). The service was slow for such an empty restaurant. We remained patient because we think there just wasn’t a lot of staff on that day. Fortunately, we were in no rush.

Everytime I order takeout from Julio’s, they mess it up. I’ve been a fan of Julio’s for 25+ years and I am always happy with the dining experience and the food… but in the last decade they’ve never gotten a takeout order correct. Their prices are getting expensive (just like everything else in the universe), so it’d be nice to get a side of black beans and rice when it’s supposed to be included in the cost.

I’ve been eating at Julio’s for over two decades with friends and family and I’ve never been disappointed. They have the best margs (turquoise and mango are my faves!) and the Baja nachos are a necessity. As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions I always know I have options here!

A nice find in downtown Montpelier. Ate at bar and Krista, the bartender, although clearly overworked, was friendly and attentive. The house Margarita was better than expected and the Italian Margarita was, too. Great burrito and street tacos.

Arrived before a Sunday dinner “rush” and was met by welcoming staff. The menu was apparently new and the waitress couldn’t answer a couple of questions about it but it wasn’t a huge deal. What threw me off was the number of times a waitress went by and none of the cups on my table were getting refills. Flagging someone down for a water refill isn’t common but I attribute that to a fairly young or new staff.
