I ordered brown stew chicken. It’s not bad but not authentic Jamaican flavor. It’s almost too salty but I prefer that over bland. The plantain was good and sweet. The cabbage was seasoned well. It’s usually bland and no flavor at other restaurants. The beef patty was good I would go back to try the curry Chicken but wouldn’t go out of my way… I just happened the be getting car work done next door. The lunch portion was decent for $7.95 + tax.

Made another visit this evening. Before I would get the cabbage and plantains. The pretty young lady answered my questions and was knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The Mac and cheese was favorably and cheesy. The ginger and pineapple drink she suggested was delicious. It is rare to have a business with EXCELLENCE customer service and great food. Thank you!!! I will definitely be back!

After my doctors they were in the main lobby. I had never had Jamaican food before, but man this was the best! So much flavor and the sauce was so good! I can’t wait to try the oxtails.

I am not sure what happened to this place. I have not been here in a couple of years but I remembered the Oxtails being decent. I got them yesterday for the first time in a while and I could not even finish them. My man got food from another popular Caribbean restaurant down the street and I refused. I just knew I was going to get some good oxtails from Island Takeaway. I was sorely mistaken. There was no flavor at all. I even had extra gravy and it did not help. Even the rice & peas was lacking compared to his! I don’t know if the owners changed or the cooks changed but they need to go back to the original recipe. I had to eat an entirely different meal at home. I was highly disappointed. Gas gone, money gone, food gone! This is not the economy to be wasteful.

The food is disgusting. Literally. No Jamaican flavor at all. And the rice tasted like pure butter with only 2 or 3 beans. She did not add gravy to it like she said. The curry goat was disgusting. The whole plate was nasty and I paid $17 for it. I wish I had went to my usual Jamaican place. I regret going here and wasting money. Never coming back

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FOOD???!!! I am so unhappy drove a while just to get 2 vegetables plates with ONLY rice and beans cabbage 2 platen for 22.00 and the cabbage was the only thing that was good . I was not told there was no mac and cheese but was charged for 3 vegetables. Just disgusting

Not to many places i can rate a 5. This is one of them. Food is consistently good, and you would think the attitude is trash because its Jamaican but no. Servers and cooks are all friendly. And the atmosphere is bright.
